College Counseling

The college admissions process is an important piece of the Upper Division experience at Horace Mann School and begins with evening programming for students and parents in December of the students' sophomore year. Students are assigned a College Counselor during their junior year (different from the Academic Advisor) and both the parents and student work with that person through the senior year in high school. Through a multi-dimensional curriculum, the college counseling program at Horace Mann School aims to provide a smooth transition from high school to college while guiding students to find the best undergraduate opportunities to fulfill their intellectual and personal goals. Horace Mann School students over the years have gone on to attend hundreds of different colleges and universities, and report that the background they received at Horace Mann School more than prepared them for the challenge.
