A Letter from the Admissions Office

Dear Prospective Families,

As we begin the admissions season, we are humbled by the opportunity to lead the School’s admissions efforts. As long time members of the community, we care deeply about this environment of thoughtful learners who truly appreciate the life of the mind. The Horace Mann School is an energetic and vibrant environment that encourages intellectualism, mutual respect, mature behavior, an active and healthy lifestyle, commitment to the community, both internal and external, and a secure setting.

When you visit our School, you will have the opportunity to familiarize yourself with our traditional educational philosophy; this philosophy has served our students well for over 125 years. You will observe a group of adventurous scholars who thrive on academic challenge and a dedicated faculty that invigorates the student body by promoting an atmosphere where creative problem solving, collaboration, diversity and exploration are valued. You will also have the chance to discover the multitude of artistic, athletic and extra-curricular options available to our students and the core values that we embrace as a community.

Visits, tours and interviews at Horace Mann School are being offered in-person this year for those who are vaccinated. In addition to the in-person events we are hosting, we welcome you to take a look at our comprehensive virtual tour.

We look forward to seeing you this fall as you explore options for your potential school home. Please explore the rest of the site to learn more about the application process and the greater Horace Mann School community.

Sincerely,

Jason H. Caldwell '97, P '28 P '33
