Horace Mann School Welcomes New Identity, Culture and Institutional Equity (ICIE) Leaders

Horace Mann School has announced the appointment of Christine Moloney as Director of the Office for Identity, Culture and Institutional Equity (ICIE), and Bri'ana Odom as ICIE Associate Director. Jaquan Shaw will continue his work as ICIE Program Associate.

"We are excited to welcome Christine and Bri'ana to the HM community, and to greet Jaquan upon his return to the ICIE office," said Horace Mann Head of School Dr. Tom Kelly. "With this trio of accomplished and dedicated professionals HM will continue to deepen our decades-long pursuit of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) throughout our school, N-12."

A graduate of Cornell University who earned her Master of Arts in Psychological and School Counseling, and her Master of Education and Mental Health Counseling at Columbia University's Teachers College, Christine Moloney comes to HM from The Windward School in New York City. Odom completed her Bachelor of Arts in sociology at Davidson College in North Carolina, and her Master of Science in Education at the University of Pennsylvania's Graduate School of Education. She previously taught Spanish and served as an assistant coach at The Northfield Mount Hermon School in Massachusetts.

"The importance to Horace Mann School of the work of our Office for Identity, Culture and Institutional Equity is beyond measure. Its leaders assist students, teachers, administrators, parents, guardians, and members of the greater HM community in numerous ways, from guiding conversations on diversity, equity, and inclusion within our school, and among our parent and guardian body, to helping faculty incorporate these issues into curricula," Dr. Kelly said. "We invite our entire community to join in warmly welcoming our ICIE leaders."
