HM Book Fair Purchases Also Support

Independent Booksellers and Food Relief

HM's annual Middle and Upper Division Book Fair has gone virtual and we are counting on our alumni community to help nurture its success.

Through Bookshop.org, an online bookstore that works with independent booksellers across the country, HM has set up a Book Fair Bookstore that will feature a weekly list – or "virtual nightstand" – of books recommended by faculty, staff, students, parents, and alumni.

Click here for HM Book Fair "Virtual Nightstands" and other recommended reading lists.

Here is how you can help:

  1. Contribute to the "virtual nightstand" project by emailing 10 of your favorite books to Katz Library Head Librarian Caroline Bartels (caroline_bartels@horacemann.org).
  2. Purchase books! 10% of every purchase is returned to the HM Book Fair, an initiative that supports Katz Library and also lends a hand to local food-relief agencies combating food insecurity in the greater Bronx community. The rest of the purchase price goes to the independent bookseller.
