Ved learned about the HM Summer Internship Program from older Upper Division students and saw it as an opportunity to explore a potential career interest. During his internship, he worked on a wide range of projects, from visiting apartment buildings in Harlem to reviewing hotel developments in California. The experience strengthened his interest in the field and helped him determine that he hopes to study real estate development in college.

Ved’s biggest takeaway was how interdisciplinary real estate can be, bringing together finance, law, politics, and other fields. He was also pleased to be given meaningful responsibilities rather than simply observing. His advice to future interns is to say yes to challenging assignments, even when they feel unfamiliar, because those experiences often provide the greatest opportunities for growth.
