Summer Programs Enrich the HM Experience
When the academic year officially ended in early June, HM’s optional two-week June Program commenced as a helpful transition from the academic year to summer recess for some of HM’s younger students. Children participated in traditional summer day camp programs at the Nursery and Lower Divisions and enjoyed a wide range of fun activities such as sports, coding, water play, scavenger hunting, science, and arts and crafts.
On the Upper Division campus, this year’s revamped summer program made it possible for 9th through 12th Graders to explore a range of experimental, experiential, and cross-disciplinary classes, mostly non-credit bearing. Several credit-bearing courses – which during the school year can be difficult for some students to fit into their schedules – were also offered this summer. Some of these included History of the American Musical Theater, Introduction to Programming and Computer Science, Lifeguarding Certification/CPR, 9th and 10th Grade Health, 11th and 12th Grade Health, and CPR/AED with First Aid for the Professional Rescuer.
