Even the most cursory of glances at HM’s calendar confirms beyond a shadow of a doubt that there is never a dull moment on campus. In addition to the many events that are highlighted in this edition of The Lion’s Pride, while students and faculty have been hard at work this spring, they also have made time to partake in the enriching extracurricular experiences of service learning, athletic contests, club activities, performing arts, and cultural celebrations.

While the calendar will be much less busy over the summer, there will still be lots of life on campus. Over 300 Lower Division and Nursery Division students, and many of their teachers, will participate in June School -- a recreation-based version of the traditional school year -- following their last day of classes. Various Upper Division and Middle Division athletic camps will be in full swing in June, as will the UD summer program. Some of the for-credit offerings this year include Film History 1:  From Talkies to TikToks, Introduction to Computer Science, Introduction to Engineering, Health 1, Health 2, and CPR/AED with First Aid for the Professional Rescuer. In late August, our fall athletics teams will begin their annual pre-season training before school resumes in September.

As always, Alumni House will be open all summer preparing for our fall events, including Homecoming and Reunions on Saturday, October 19th. If you graduated in a class year that ends in “4” or “9,” please mark your calendar and start spreading the news to your classmates. A reunion invitation with details will be distributed in August, but in the meantime, if your mailing address/contact information has recently changed, please let us know so you will receive our correspondence in a timely fashion.

Have a wonderful summer!

Warmly,
