Kim Do, Former HM Visual Arts Teacher,
Featured in Upcoming Gallery Show
Kim Do, retired HM visual arts teacher and father of two HM graduates, will be in residence through November 23rd at the Blue Mountain Gallery, located at 547 West 27th Street, Suite 200, in Manhattan. Kim, who has been described as an outdoor painter, will be painting in the gallery during the course of the show. Additionally, some of Kim’s atypical inventions will be on display.
As the artist’s website explains, “trained in the Modernist tradition, Kim Do incorporates concepts of abstract expressionism, interaction of color, figure/ground exchange, and a keen awareness to the limits of the frame as well as its suggested space beyond. Within the context of the recognizable world, the paintings are accessible to any viewer, and aspire to challenge the educated eye.”
