2024-2025 Facts and Figures
Horace Mann School’s 138th year began on September 3, 2024, with 1,805 students and 1,313 families in Nursery through 12th Grade. This is the second largest enrollment in the school’s history and is the largest in the last ten years.
The profile of the 2024-2025 HM community is as follows:
- 146 children in the Nursery Division.
- 470 students in the Lower Division.
- 458 students in the Middle Division.
- 731 students in the Upper Division.
- Just under 50% of enrolled students identify as girls and just under 50% identify as boys, with fewer than 1% of students expressing a different gender identity.
- 55% of students self-identify as students of color. Two percent of the student population identifies as international.
- 16% of students receive more than $16,000,000 in financial aid for tuition and other expenses.
- Families come from 145 different zip codes.
- HM has 426 employees, and our 265 faculty members hold 176 master’s degrees and 40 doctoral degrees.
- In addition to the 19 acres in the Bronx (Lower and Middle/Upper Division campuses, two athletic fields, and tennis courts) and the Nursery Division’s historic brownstone on 90th Street in Manhattan, HM has 320 acres of land in Bethlehem and Washington, CT, known as the John Dorr Nature Laboratory.
