For many years, the Horace Mann School has provided an academic summer session for students from Horace Mann and from other public and private schools in the tri-state area. Students come to Summer School for many reasons. Some come to get ahead. Still others use the Summer School program as a way to improve or make up work in certain areas. All students can expect a supportive atmosphere conducive to learning and exploration. The program also provides small class sizes and many opportunities for student-teacher interaction.
For Summer 2020, Horace Mann Summer School is closed due to COVID-19.
No Summer School academic or enrichment courses will be held for Upper Division students this summer, either in person or virtually, except for the ACT and SAT prep course scheduled for June 22-June 26. This course if open ONLY to Horace Mann students. This course will be run virtually and is open to current 10th and 11th graders and any 9th graders currently enrolled in Algebra II & Trig, no exceptions.
If you have applied for a Summer School course and you are an Horace Mann parent and have paid a deposit or the full tuition fee, that money will be put towards your child's 2020-2021 academic year tuition, unless otherwise specified to Galina Rutoiz in the Business Office at Galina_Rutoiz@horacemann.org. Non-Horace Mann families who have applied will receive a full refund of any fees paid. Feel free to reach out to Caroline Bartels via email at Caroline_Bartels@horacemann.org for more information about how to enroll your child in the ACT or SAT prep course.
Horace Mann Summer School will offer for HM students only: ACT/SAT Prep (June 22-26). We may be adding extra sessions so if you think this is something you may want to do this summer, go ahead and sign up. Ms. Bartels will keep all students signed up aware of schedule changes and program changes as the program expands to fit the number of students enrolled.
