Lower Division Camp HMLD
Lower Division's Camp HMLD is dedicated to play, friendship, and discovery. Campers fill their days with a wide range of engaging activities—from sports and coding to science experiments and art—while building new friendships along the way. Campers choose an elective to dive deeper into an area of interest, giving them the chance to explore what they love most. With special events like fun treats, field trips, and guest visitors woven throughout the session, Camp HMLD is a dynamic and memorable summer experience.
Grades
Open to all children currently enrolled at Horace Mann School in Lower Division's Kindergarten through Grade 4 and to new students entering Lower Division's Kindergarten - Grade 5 this fall.

June 15-18, 2026 (We are closed on June 19 for Juneteenth)

8:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. Daily
Activities
All students will have the opportunity to take part in general camp activities taught by HM faculty. This includes sports, coding and other programming, science experiments, art, and more. Additionally, there will be an opportunity for students to choose one elective. The elective period allows the students to concentrate on a particular area, going a little deeper than a general activity would. Elective choices will include academics (reading and math), co-curricular (science, art, coding), or recreational (sports, yoga, games). Upon completion of camp registration, you will receive further information on how to choose electives for your child.
Campers will be grouped by grade for most activities. Each grade will be broken up into smaller groups at the start and end of the day, just for attendance purposes. All campers will have lunch and recess at the same time, and grades can mix during elective periods. Campers will spend plenty of time with their friends!
Camp HMLD will feature field trips and/or special events. Past examples have included: a Bronx Zoo visit; Mad Scientist; animal encounters; ice cream sundaes, food trucks, and other fun treats; a New York Hall of Science visit; and a camp carnival.
Tuition
June 15-18, 2026 - $450/week
Payment is accepted only via ACH transfers. Checks dropped off at the Lower Division will not be accepted.
Students who withdraw prior to May 10, 2026 will receive a 50% refund.
No refunds will be issued after May 10, 2026.
Lunch and Snacks
Flik will provide lunch and snack most days. We will also have a visit from a food truck and other treats! The full menu will be shared before camp begins.
Transportation
Super Selby bus transportation is available. For 2026, roundtrip for the week will be $354 and one-way for the week will be $248. Bus registration will open in March 2026, and is done directly through Super Selby, not HM.
Application
All interested families must complete the Camp HMLD application. Additionally, students who are new to HM (joining this fall) or will have their medical form expire before the start of camp must complete the medical form.
