June 18 - 22, 2018
Open to all current high school students and rising ninth graders
A week-long workshop for young actors, taught by RSC actor and Director. The workshop will explore scenes and speeches from Shakespeare's plays, concentrating on voice and text work.
We will look at different ways in which actors and directors approach Shakespeare's language, in order to fully realize his characters and the world of the plays in performance.
Participants will learn how, in Shakespeare's plays, everything starts and ends with the language; and how unlocking and opening this language is what engages and excites audiences and performers alike.
The workshop will build towards a sharing of material which will be rehearsed and staged throughout the week.
$75.00 application fee
Nutritious hot and cold lunches are included each day
Time: 9:30 am - 3:30 pm
