Horace Mann School strives to fulfill the purposes of the

with respect to Program:

nurture and rigor in the academic program.

a consensus among the faculty from Nursery through the Upper Division as
to what constitutes excellent teaching.

breadth and depth in course offerings and in course content.

strong offerings in traditional disciplines while encouraging creative
curricular innovation in interdisciplinary and experiential learning.

a continuum of adult professional support for students that enables them
to meet the intellectual, personal, and ethical challenges of each stage
of their development.

community service and service-learning opportunities in the Bronx, New

the arts as central self-expressive disciplines.

attention to the human face of the daily schedule.

in the Advanced Placement program at a high level while seeking out

academic preparation for college-level work.
