Mission

The primary mission of the Horace Mann Lower Division Library is to teach students how to become independent thinkers and life-long learners who possess a love of literature.

Collection

The Horace Mann Lower Division Library collection consists of approximately 20,000 print titles, electronic encyclopedias, online databases and a growing collection of audio & ebooks.  These titles and databases include all major subject areas to support our curriculum and general interest.  Students and faculty have access to magazines and newspapers, as well.

Checkout Policy 

• K-2:  1 week
• 3-5:  2 weeks
• Students with overdue materials may not checkout until they have returned their overdue items. 
• Audiobooks and ebooks may be checked out one at a time.

Lost and Damaged Items

The lost or damaged book fee is $10 for paperbacks or $25 for hard covers.  Fee for audiobook is actual replacement cost.
